Making changes to your course

Dropping a unit or a course? Do it by the ‘census date’

Saturday 31 March is the census date for semester 1.

Friday 31 August is the census date for semester 2.

The census date is when you become liable for fees and the last day you can discontinue without the word ‘withdrawn’ showing on your academic record (in a nutshell – if you want to drop a unit or course, do it by the census date or you’ll be paying fees for something you’re not studying).

Changing units

If you want to swap units do it by Friday 9 March in semester 1 and by Friday 3 August in semester 2.

TIP: It costs money to enrol in units after this date and if you’re enrolled part-time you can’t add units after the census date.
