Make it a priority to get to know the library, you can’t get through your degree without it so you may as well get friendly early on. The Matheson Library is where Arts students go and it has access to resources pretty much anywhere in the world: http://www.lib.monash.edu.au/

TIP: Take your books back on time – other people need them and the fines for overdue books are rather like parking fines – they hurt. Make sure you do a library tour, you’ll be glad you did.

Top Tips

For student rights, advocacy, representation and support go to the MONSU at Caulfield.
The Matheson at Caulfield is open from 8:00am – 10:00pm Mon to Fri and 10:00am – 5:00pm on weekends.
Use your ID card for student concessions eg movies (don’t lose it, a replacement is expensive).
The Monash fitness centres have great deals and an impressive range of activities to choose from.
Carpool. Not only will you do your bit for the environment, it’s a good way to save money. There’s a shuttle bus that goes between Caulfield, Clayton at a cost of $1.00 per trip.
Make sure any changes to your courses are in by the census date (31st March & 31st August).
Re-enrol for next year by October to avoid a ($270.00) late fine.

Go to the doctors and counsellors on campus, they know students well and they’re cheaper (even free!).
